Pumpkin Patch is a warm, home-based day care center for children from 2 months to 5 years old. Classrooms are divided by infants, toddlers and pre-school-aged children. There are also various play stations, and activities are designed around monthly themes. There are always at least three teachers at the school, providing for a low four children to one teacher ratio. This ensures individualized attention as teachers strive to help pupils develop fully. There is a fenced-in backyard and play gyms for the children.
The staff welcomes ongoing dialogue with parents, for the sake of each child's well-being and in order to foster the feeling that Pumpkin Patch is an extension of a child's family.
Nutritious meals and snacks are provided, as are bed linens for nap time. All teachers are certified in CPR and first aid, and are able to administer medication. A registered nurse visits the day care weekly.
