Established in 1973, the Prudence Crandall Center provides support, beneficial information and individual advocacy to women, men and children who are victims of domestic violence. It operates a 24-hour crisis hotline that offers individual counseling, community education and information and referrals services in English, Spanish and Polish. The center educates individuals to reduce domestic violence, as well as provides emergency shelters to women and their children. It offers services in Berlin, Bristol, Burlington, Kensington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Terryville, Conn. The center's mother care program offers support and advocacy to women and children. The Prudence Crandall Center is located in New Britain, Conn.
