Our Lady of Lourdes Church is the only Roman Catholic church in Ledyard. Founded in 1957 as a mission church of Sacred Heart Parish in Groton, it was established as a parish of the Diocese of Norwich in 1963.
The Rev. Brian Converse was appointed pastor in February 2011. The congregation today has over 1100 families.
The main church, a contemporary worship space built in 1980, seats 650.
Church ministries include community outreach (prayer shawl ministry, food kitchen/pantry support, etc.), Faith Formation programs for adults and youth, Knights of Columbus, Women's Guild, music ministry including adult, youth and hand bell choirs, Bible study.
