Founded in 1957, Myrtle H. Stevens Elementary School began its first phase of development with 288 students in 12 separate classrooms. The library, stage, cafeteria and 13 additional classrooms were added 10 years later in 1967. The third stage came to fruition with the addition of the Anthony A. Morganti Gymnasium, built in 1975. Currently, the school's prekindergarten through 5th-grade population totals 480 students.
According to its website, Stevens Elementary looks to foster "good study habits, self-discipline, strong character and good citizenship" through its educational program.
