According to the town's website, Mayor Ronald K. McDaniel, Montville's chief executive officer, "is responsible for the day-to-day administration of all departments, personnel and operations, with the exception of the public school system and the water and water-pollution control departments."
The mayor reports to the town council on a monthly basis. When the council makes a decision, writes or changes an ordinance or resolution, it's up to the mayor to put the council's direction into action.
He is also responsible, with the finance director, for advising the council on the financial state of the town. It is his job to send the annual budget to the council, and to control that budget.
McDaniel has pledged to keep his door open, and listen to the people of Montville.
