Monroe Town Hall is housed in a red brick facility built on the Monroe Green in 1972. A gazebo adorns the grounds in the front.
Municipal departments carry out town business during the day, and meetings of town boards and commissions are held in the Town Council Chambers and conference room on week nights.
The First Selectman's Office is located at Town Hall, along with the Town Clerk, Tax Collector, Assessor, Registrar of Voters and Fire Marshals' offices.
Departments in the facility include Building, Finance, Planning & Zoning, Inland Wetland, Parks & Recreation, Information Technology, Public Works, Engineering and Human Resources.
The Monroe Police Department, which shares the building, takes up the lower level in the back of the property.
