Mary’s Place, a non-profit organization, provides support for children, teens and families grieving a death. Mary’s Place offers a home-like setting that holds ongoing peer support groups for children ages 3-12, teens and young widow and widowers. All groups meet twice a month. The groups are available to children and teens that have experienced the death of a parent, primary caregiver, sibling, or in the case of the teen group, a best friend. All groups require preregistration. Mary’s Place does not charge a fee for its services nor does it receive any state or federal funding. All programs are supported solely through donations from individuals, foundations or companies. The Carmon Family Resource Center is also located at Mary’s Place and consists of books and videos on death and dying for all ages. Anyone is welcome to check out material. Please call ahead if you would like to visit the library.
