Gordon & Jacobson has a broad array of clientele geographically located across the U.S. and throughout the world, and ranging from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups. Large Companies We provide IP services including patent prosecution, infringement and right-to-practice opinions, and counseling to Fortune 500 companies and multi-billion dollar international conglomerates who have in-house IP departments. We work closely with in-house counsel, but at the same time, are usually given a wide degree of freedom due to our high quality work which is recognized by our in-house peers. Small Companies We provide a full range of our legal expertise to our small company clients. We often act as in-house IP counsel for our small company clients, and attend internal company IP committee meetings and company board meetings, in person or via conferencing. In addition, we provide IP training services to the management, engineering staff, and sales staff of small companies through a series of lectures and Q&A sessions. Start-Up Companies Start-up companies are a special subset of small companies. In addition to the services we provide for small companies, we work with start-ups to address "day 1" issues through to exit strategy issues including the process of going public, refinancing, and being acquired. When necessary and appropriate we provide specific legal opinions on IP matters to underwriters and acquirers. Foreign Companies and Firms Gordon & Jacobson has relationships with many foreign firms world-wide who service our clients and whose clients we are able to service. Because the majority of our corporate clients sell products world-wide, we have extensive experience in the PCT and in foreign patent and trademark law practice, and are able to use that experience to represent foreign companies in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Our support staff has been particularly trained to support the special needs of our foreign clients.
