Covenant & Congregational We are affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church. The Covenant is Lutheran in theology and Congregational in organization. We trace our beginnings to the spiritual awakenings that swept through the Swedish Lutheran Church in the 19th century. Our church today is diverse and welcoming of people of all religious backgrounds. We are: We are also associated with the United Church of Christ having an historic connection with them. Our church began in 1897 as a mission of Congregational Church. We worshiped in Hartford at the corner of Russ and Hungerford until 1960 when we moved to our current location. Our church is committed to being an active part of the West Hartford community. We are active in the West Hartford Cooperative Ministries, HopeWorks and the Pastoral Counseling Center as well as many other ministries.
