Blakeslee Prestress entered into the construction industry in 1844 as the family-run business C.W. Blakeslee and Sons. The company saw the advantages of an emerging technology at the time, prestressed concrete, and opened a prestressed division in 1958. For nearly the past 50 years, the company has been providing customers in the construction industry with engineering solutions by utilizing precast/prestressed concrete building structures. Blakeslee Prestress sits on a 36-acre site in Branford, Conn. It maintains a 150,000-square-foot facility that contains a state-of-the-art computerized concrete batch plant, along with steel fabrication, engineering, carpentry and quality control departments.
