Established in 1939, Bethel High School is a public school that enrolls more than 1,000 students in grades nine through 12. The high school is a part of Bethel Public Schools and provides college-preparatory education. Its curriculum includes English, math, art, music, science, social studies, and foreign languages with a choice in French, Latin or Spanish. Additionally, it provides courses in Web design, desktop publishing, business, accounting, marketing, advertising, mass communication, photography and family and consumer science. Bethel High School also provides advanced-placement courses, child development programs, and technology, physical and special education. It has a library and media center that provides curriculum books, literary sources, Internet search tools, online Grolier s encyclopedias, newspapers and audiovisual aids. The high school also provides various sports activities, such as ice hockey, baseball, lacrosse, wrestling, swimming and tennis.
