Beachland Park is one of five neighborhood parks in West Hartford. In addition to a pool open during the summer, it is the home of Beachland Pond, the John H. Carey baseball field, a basketball court and a playground. The park was originally a homestead purchased by Charles M. Beach of Hartford in 1852, and the Beachland Park Clubhouse was once the Elmwood Creamery.

Town of Berlin Parks & Recreation Department

The Parks and Recreation Department runs a variety of programs year round throughout Berlin. The programs range from recreational basketball to Easter egg hunts to dog obedience training. The department also runs the Berlin Community Center, which houses meeting and game rooms that are available for rent. It also runs summer playgrounds and pools.

Simsbury Recreation Dept

The culture, parks and recreation department oversees a wide range of programs and other activities throughout the year. Brochures are published quarterly and contain program and registration information. The department maintains 12 town parks and use of the Apple Barn, Simsbury Farms. There are more than 1,600 acres of town-owned parks and open space. Simsbury Farms, a 235-acre facility on Old Farms Road, includes an 18-hole golf course, covered outdoor skating rink, outdoor pool area, four lighted tennis courts, two lighted paddle tennis courts and a fitness trail.
