The Avon Public Works Department is located on the last right turn off of Arch Road at the end of the path. It serves to keep Avon roads clean and in quality condition, maintains and stores the town vehicles and upkeeps the parks, grounds and ballfields by mowing the grass, landscaping and ensuring that the fields are safe for games. The town garage and sand shed is housed next to the Public Works office building. Public Works is also responsible for the landfill and transfer station on Huckleberry Hill Road. There is also an exchange at the landfill available for residents with permits as a place to unload unwanted items that are trash for some and treasure for others. Salvation Army bins are also stationed at the landfill for making donations. Bruce C. Williams is the Public Works director, Alexander M. Trujillo is the deputy director of Public Works, Robert J. Martin is superintendent of solid waste, Paul Hoekman is the Public Works acting foreman, Paul Welsh and Mike Moran are Public Works foremen.
