Sr. Anne D'Alessio is the Apostle of the Sacred Heart of Jesus that we present this week. She is currently the Treasurer of the US Province. Apostle Immigrant Services is a ministry that provides assistance to underserved immigrants in the New Haven, CT area. Please read more about AIS in the latest issue of their newsletter. Congratulations to John Paul II Catholic High School ( Tallahassee, FL ) senior Patrick Mangan, who has been named a 2010 U.S. Presidential Scholar by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars. Honorees are selected on the basis of leadership, scholarship, contribution to school and community and outstanding accomplishments in the arts, sciences, humanities, and other fields of interest... Cor Jesu Academy's ( St. Louis, MO ) Class of 2010 gathered on May 22 at Seven Holy Founders Church for the Baccalaureate Liturgy with families and friends. Graduates led their class in song and prayer at a beautiful liturgy celebrated by Fr. Tom Pastorious, Associate Pastor of St. Mark's Parish. The communion song, The Call, " sung by senior members of choir was a favorite from the Kairos retreats of this year. On Sunday, May 23, CJA Principal Sr. Kathleen Mary Coonan presented the 130 graduates to Sr. Barbara Thomas, President, to receive their diplomas. Over 800 parents and guests were in attendance to celebrate the class of 2010. Provincial Superior Sr. Maureen Martin has announced the appointment of Eileen Schreck as the new Director of Mission Advancement for the U.S. Province. Sr. Sheila O'Neill, who has filled that role for the past three years, is moving to Sacred Heart Academy, located on the property of the U.S. Provincialate in Hamden, CT where she will be the school's first President.
