The Meriden Department of Health and Human Services strives to keep the Meriden population healthy, physically and mentally. Health, youth and social and senior services fall under the department's umbrella.
Housed in the town's former police department on Miller Street near the Meriden Library, the department has an onsite clinic that provides immunizations, physicals and screenings. For local residents and institutions, it also provides social workers, school nurses, senior assistance, school readiness programs, youth services, health education, entitlement program assistance, a HIV/AIDS program, environmental and health assistance. The department partners with local organizations focused on health and well-being.
