Founded in 1975, Community Crisis Center offers a variety of social and welfare services throughout the state of Illinois. It is a group of volunteers to help people in crisis due to domestic violence, sexual assault and economic circumstances. The center provides 24-hour crisis help line, information and referrals, emergency shelter, and individual and group counseling. It also offers medical, legal and welfare advocacy, transitional housing, and emergency assistance with food, clothing, rent and utilities. The center also offers special programs that include batterer intervention, homelessness assistance and community education. It additionally has a licensed clinical therapist for providing individual assessments to children suffering with domestic and sexual abuses. Community Crisis Center is located in Elgin, Ill.
