The Road and Bridge Department, operated by the government of Yuma County in Colorado, is responsible for the maintenance and construction of roadways and drainage structures in the county. The department maintains more than 30 bridges. It is also responsible for the maintenance of over 2,280 miles of roads. The department has a fleet of nearly 15 graders, tandem trucks and trailers. The Road and Bridge Department is responsible for granting special transport and underground utility permits. The department accepts requests for improving roads. In addition, the Road and Bridge Department grants ditching, boring, digging and trenching permits.
