The Tri-County Health Department works to protect, promote and improve the health, environment and quality of life of the residents of Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas counties in Colorado. It is one of the largest health departments in Colorado. The department serves more than 1,250,000 residents. The Tri-County Health Department tracks infectious disease data through the Colorado Electronic Disease Reporting System. It offers water pollution prevention, land use planning consultation, solid and hazardous waste disposal, septic system permit and inspection, and mosquito and rodent control surveillance solutions. The department administers the WIC program, which includes special supplemental nutritional services for women, children and infants.
