Since 1988, the company has acquired 11 motor carrier operations, giving it access to more than 16,000 trucks, which makes Swift Transportation the largest truckload fleet in the United States. With a combination of regional and transcontinental operations, the principal commodities it deals with include retail and discount department store merchandise, manufactured goods, paper products, food products, beverages and beverage containers and building materials. In addition to its headquarters in Phoenix, Swift maintains more than 30 terminal facilities throughout the United States, including one in Denver.
