Soaring Eagles Center for Autism (SECA) is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable autism services to children, families, and communities in southern Colorado. Established in 2001, SECA has grown to reach families throughout Colorado and surrounding states, offering programs such as behavioral therapy, social skills therapy, after-school hours therapies, and life skills training.
Founded by Dr. Karen Colvin and Nancy Barris, P.A., SECA was born out of the founders' personal experience with their own sons' autism diagnosis and the lack of accessible services in Pueblo County. Starting as a support group, SECA expanded its programs to include autism education for parents and teachers, eventually offering teaching services and becoming the first center in Pueblo County to provide an extended school year program for children with ASD. With a mission to increase services and expand autism community education efforts, SECA continues to make a difference in the lives of individuals with autism and their families.
