Established in 1971, the Senior Resource Development Agency was created by a small group of citizens who were interested in providing meals to the homebound elderly in the Pueblo community in Colorado. Since then, it has evolved into a comprehensive, coordinated service delivery system that employs more than 100 full- and part-time staff and provides a wide range of senior and intergenerational services. For seniors who like to stay physically and socially active, it offers a variety of social and leisure activities and affordable fitness classes, including strength training, tai chi, chair aerobics and line dancing. In addition, it offers classes in computers, oil and watercolor painting and workshops for arts and crafts. On a daily basis, it provides pool tables, free exercise machines, a big-screen TV with movie players and a computer room with Internet access and printers. It organizes group daytrips to regional festivals, museums, music and cultural events. It is located in Pueblo.
