The District Credit Union
HistoryThe District Credit Union was founded on May 11, 1961 by eight teachers dedicated to creating more benefits and unity within their Aurora Public Schools Community. They wanted to provide Aurora Public Schools staff with an opportunity to pool their resources to create loans for each other and benefit together from the collective income. The eight teachers started the credit union with $5 each, for a total pool of $40. The first loan was for $5. Since then, our field of membership has been expanded to included staff, students, and family members of public or private schools, daycares, and colleges located in Aurora Colorado. We've since grown to over 7,300 members and over $95 million in assets. We've also increased the number of branches in recent years. We opened our Highpoint Marketplace Branch on June 17, 2008, and we opened our Pickens Technical College Branch on August 26, 2008.SpecialtiesWe are a full service credit union specializing in Auto Loans, Mortgage Loans, Signature Loans, Computer Loans, Credit Cards, Savings Accounts, Checking Accounts, Money Market Accounts, Certificates of Deposit (CD), Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA), Online Banking, Mobile Banking, and Bill Pay.
