History
Janet Sellers, our founder, started Monument School of Fine Arts to share her understanding and experience in the arts for the community. Her background in the arts includes public artworks in large and small cities, and extensive work in the field of art, environmental design, and in the entertainment industry both as editor and designer. She was head teacher for a large teaching studio in Los Angeles area before relocating to Monument, Colorado, where she continues her painting and teaching as well as public art sculptures for Colorado cities, MSFA is proud to have award-winning teachers, award-winning students, too. We started MSFA to offer local students and adults top-quality art instruction, art shows and more to enrich their lives and make some local family fun. We support local and national cultural events and sponsor many of them, including the National Junior Duck Stamp Design competition, annual art shows in local art venues, Valentines for Veterans and more.
