Martial Arts & Mental Health is a non-profit organization based in Colorado Springs, CO that utilizes martial arts as a means to address and manage strong emotions such as anger and frustration. Participants engage in punching and kicking exercises on targets to help cope with negative emotions, while also learning self-defense techniques and the use of nunchucks for individuals with PTSD, Anxiety, and Depression.
Executive Director Stephen Christopher, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Addiction Specialist, leads the program with his extensive background in martial arts and mental health. With over 50 years of experience in martial arts and holding a 6th degree Black Belt, Christopher combines his expertise to provide a unique approach to mental health and well-being.
