Hoover, O.D., F.A.A.O. Dr. Hoover was born and raised in central Pennsylvania. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Hoover received a Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1987. He also completed an internship at the Utah Eye Institute with special emphasis in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease. Dr. Hoover has been practicing at Valley Vision Clinic since 1990 with special interests in ocular disease, pediatric optometry and vision therapy. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Colorado Optometric Association, and the American Academy of Optometry. He has served as the Colorado Optometric Association Legislative Captain for Western Colorado. Dr.Hoover was elected to the COA Board of Trustees in 2004, has been Secretary/Treasurer, and President of the Colorado Optometric Association. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Hoover has been an active member of the Glenwood Springs community as past President and current member of the Glenwood Springs Lions Club; as a volunteer visual science instructor at Colorado Mountain College; as a vision screening coordinator for CMC's Gateway program; as a volunteer optometrist for the Lions Club Vision Fair; and as a volunteer for Special Olympics vision screening projects in Colorado.
