Highland Rescue Team Ambulance District, nestled in the Foothills of Denver, proudly serves as the Emergency Medical District for Genesee, Lookout Mountain, and Idledale. Covering a stretch of Interstate 70 and surrounding areas, the district boasts five open space areas with scenic hiking, mountain biking, and running trails.
With a dedicated team of 4.5 paid paramedics and around 50 volunteer EMTs and paramedics, Highland Rescue provides round-the-clock medical coverage. Their station at highway 40 and Lookout Mountain houses 3 ALS ambulances and 1 rescue vehicle, strategically positioned to respond to the 33.5 square mile district.
Responding to a variety of calls, from residential emergencies to backcountry incidents, Highland Rescue also offers wildland fire medical response for neighboring fire protection districts. Handling approximately 800 calls annually, the team ensures timely and proficient emergency care for the community.
