The Grand Junction Housing Authority has been providing affordable housing opportunities for individuals in need since 1974. Its Calling Mesa County Home (CMCH) Program is an employer-assisted work force housing program that is designed to assist the members of the local work force who wish to become homeowners. The authority s Family Self-Sufficiency program provides supportive and case management services to eligible families who seek to make the transition from public assistance to productive employment and economic self-sufficiency. Its Family Unification program is designed to help low-income families retain their housing facilities, as well as provides coaching, mentoring, educational, facilitation, negotiation and other services. The Grand Junction Housing Authority s Next Step Housing Program provides transitional housing options for homeless families. It additionally publishes a brochure titled Protect Your Family From Lead In Your Home, which provides details about the hazards of lead dust and paint chips.
