Food Bank of the Rockies, is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1978 as the Colorado Food Clearing House. The organization provides food supplies to more than 950 hunger-relief programs in Denver and the surrounding areas. It has provided more that 260 million pounds of food to its member agencies. Its key programs include fighting hunger, feeding hope and denver s table and children s nutrition network. It addresses the problem of childhood hunger that impacts children's physical, mental, spiritual and social growth. In addition to it works with various agencies, such as day care facilities, and organizes camps and programs for at-risk youth. Food Bank of the Rockies also delivers commodity supplemental food program boxes to more than 3,500 homebound individuals and senior citizens.
