The City of Florence is a Statutory City located in Fremont County, Colorado, United States. The population was 3,653 at the 2000 census.
ADX Florence, the only federal Supermax prison in the United States, is located south of Florence in an unincorporated area in Fremont County. Florence sits on the same desert lands as Pueblo and Cañon City, the high deserts of southern Colorado.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.1 square miles (10.6 km²). 4.1 square miles (10.5 km²) of it is land and 0.25% is water.
