History
In 2012, I was ready ready to change and take my medical practice in a new direction. I love the practice of medicine but I don't love the business of medicine. My last practice was a busy, insurance-based, relatively high volume practice. This can work well for some things, but it does not work well when I want to offer a more holistic approach to my patients. The standard insurance-based visit is 15 minutes long. I want the length of the visit to be determined by the patient's needs, not the demands of the insurance companies. My specialty is hormone balance but I truly enjoy all aspects of women's healthcare. I've been an gynecologist for over 20 years.
Specialties
I am a board certified gynecologist specializing in women's health and wellness. I see women of all ages but my speciality is midlife womens' health including perimenopause, menopause, bioidentical hormone therapy, treatment of low sex drive, weight loss, mood issues, and fatigue. I can also help women make the decision of whether or not their gynecologic issues require a surgical solution, discuss all of their options, and refer them to the appropriate gynecologic surgeon. Unlike many large OB/Gyn practices, my new practice Womansmart, opened in August 2012, provides a patient experience directly tied to the needs of the patient and not to the constraints imposed by the insurance company.
