History
Detour Bakery was established from our passion for great tasting breads and pastries. When the owners first met 18 years ago and Jeff visited France he was intrigued by how delicious their baguettes tasted. Just after that when Florence moved to Denver, Jeff started as a hobby trying to re-create that fabulous French taste in breads. After many years and during Jeff's travels around the United States and Canada, he continued to visit bakeries, take pictures and notes about their menu's. For the past several years, Jeff's interest in opening a bakery proceeded and the thoughts became looking for a good location. We wanted to be fairly close to home (a bike ride or walk), so when our Virginia Village location became available, we moved towards opening a neighborhood French style bakery.
