Denver Wastewater Management builds, operates and maintains Denver's sanitary sewer system and storm drainage system. The division maintains more than 1,500 miles of sanitary sewers and 550 miles of storm drainage facilities. It was created in 1966. The division is an Enterprise Fund, which charges for the services it provides. It has four functional areas of responsibility, which include finance, administration and human resources, operations, and construction and engineering. Denver Wastewater Management also designs its systems.
