Mohammad (Asem) Bakkar, MD, is a General Surgeon who has recently joined St. Thomas Mores General Surgery clinic. Asem received his Premed requirements at Arapahoe Community College and Shoreline Community College. He then completed Medical School at the University of St. Eustatius SOM. There he also finished the Hyperbaric Medicine and the Under Sea Hyperbaric Program.Asem began his healthcare journey as a Volunteer Research Assistant in the Mayo Clinics Tumor Biology Program. From there he served as Managing Hyperbaric Supervisor at the University of St. Eustatius. Asem then moved into the surgical field, working as a surgical resident, general surgeon, locum general surgeon and contract general surgeon across the United States before coming to St. Thomas More.Asem enjoys hunting, fishing and music. He likes to spend free time playing guitar and bass.
