Family owned and operated - owner Dr. David McCluggage has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1981, when he graduated from Colorado State University. He has emphasized complementary medicine since 1991. David's practice now includes a variety of different companion animals, mostly dogs, cats, and birds, with the occasional large animal. David has taken advanced training in homeopathy from the Animal Natural Health Center, acupuncture from the International Veterinary Medical Society (I.V.A.S.), And Chinese Herbal Medicine from I.V.A.S (the IVAS course included 6 sessions, each four days in length). He is an I.V.A.S. Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, and has been one of the teachers for the I.V.A.S. Basic Certification Course. He was a columnist for Natural Pet Magazine until it stopped publishing, and was on the Board of Directors of the Veterinary Institute for Integrative Medicine.
