Brewer Steel Company began business as a sheet metal and ductwork fabricator in 1926. Over the years, the business grew to include heavier products and fabrications. In the early 1980s, the focus of the business shifted from sheet metal and ductwork to heavy fabrication and process equipment. With the addition of specialized equipment and personnel, the company is now one of the leading fabricators in Greeley, Colo. Its products and services include plate and sheet punching, circle shearing, beveling, welding, drilling and structural rolling. In 1994, the company was purchased by BMA, an engineering and fabricating firm located in Braunscheweig, Germany. The manufacturing facility of more than 40,000-square-feet is equipped with over three, 50-ton overhead cranes. The company has completed projects for Babcock & Wilcox, Universal Studios, Western Sugar, Antarctic Support Associates, United Engineers and the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
