Established in 1963, Bal Swan Children's Center is a preschool with a 40 percent population of disabled children. The center provides early intervention therapies and education services for children with disabilities from infancy to five-years of age, that include occupational, physical and speech therapies, parenting skills and counseling support. The school s curriculum stresses pre-academic basics and incorporates arts and crafts, music, field trips and swimming in its warm-water therapy pool. The school s classroom has an equal mix of challenged toddlers with typical toddlers. Its class size is of six to seven students and focuses on facilitating overall developmental skills through routine play and interaction with peers.
