Three Types of Chiropractic Care Relief Care: This type of care is given when there is acute pain and discomfort to get you out of pain. The visit frequency is based on the amount of damage that needs to be corrected. Corrective Care: This type of care is given when there is a chronic problem with the spine and it has not been taken care of properly. This type of care requires long term treatment. Wellness Care: This type of care is given after the relief and corrective care phases are complete. The goal in wellness care is to maintain the spine and keep it functioning at its highest possible level to reduce the chances of developing future spinal problems. Visit frequency in this phase is much less than in the relief or corrective phases of care.
