This shop does not have a showroom. Instead, it devotes all its shop space to repair work. Owner Greg Beery's first 4 wheel drive outing was at the age of four into what is now the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area. So, with 44 years experience as a 4 wheeler, Greg is able to help the customer select the right product to achieve the desired result. 4WD Xtreme strives for customer satisfaction. The father and son team started this locally owned business in 2001. Earlier this year, a third technician joined their team. There seems to be at least one major project in the works at all times. At this time, there are two. The first project which is almost complete is a '67 Jeepster Commando that was disassembled to the frame and rebuilt with an injected 4.3 motor and a five speed transmission. It also has air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, new paint, a family cage, new seats and a stereo. The second project is a '50 Jeepster body being mounted to a '95 Chevy S10 frame and running gear with a 4.3 syclone motor. Greg Beery is also the President of the Trailridge Runners 4 WD Club and in that capacity was a driving force behind securing and managing a $250, 000 Colorado State Parks OHV grant for multi-year improvement and restoration of Lefthand Canyon in partnership with the Boulder Ranger District. This was the largest grant ever given to a 4 WD club and for this work the club was recognized with the Forest Service's very prestigious Regional Forester Honor Award in the category of Recreation Partner. This business, like many of our Associate Members, is a big contributor to the motorized community Greg is the former Northern District VP and in 2002 was recognized as 4 Wheeler of the Year by the Colorado Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs.
