The Work World concept was founded in Canada in 1978. Dedicated to serving the work and casual clothing needs of all working people. The merchandise assortment of each store consists of national core components, items specific to each region, and items which are unique to the community served by each store. In May 1990, the first United States Work World store was opened in Fairfield, California, as a test store. Over the next two years the U.S. concept was refined and a second store was opened in Santa Rosa (Coddingtown Mall ) in 1992. The second store confirmed the profitable results of the Fairfield store. By 1996 the U.S. chain had expanded to ten stores. Our sixteenth store was opened in May 2007 with it being our largest store yet at 11000 square feet and our second store location in Santa Rosa, California.
