Richmond Area Multi-Services is a community-based, mental health agency located in the Richmond district of San Francisco. Founded in 1974 by the Richmond Asian caucus and originally named the Richmond Maxi-Center, it is committed to providing community-based, culturally-competent and consumer-guided services that meet the mental health, social and educational needs of the community. It targets populations that include residents of the Richmond district, the greater Asian-American communities and its Russian and Asian/Pacific Islander customers in San Francisco and San Mateo, Calif. Services include individual and group therapy, clinical case management, couple and family therapy, play therapy for children and psychiatric evaluation and therapy. In addition, the center provides outreach and preventive services at many community locations, such as schools, childcare centers, social service agencies and churches. Richmond Area Multi-Services is headquartered in San Francisco.
