Venice High School is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Originally located in a boathouse, the school was moved to its present location in 1925. The borders of Venice expand to encompass the school, although it is east of Walgrove Avenue.
Venice High was the shooting location for "Grease." It played the part of Rydell High.
The bronze statue in front of the school is of movie legend Myrna Loy, who was an alumna.
