University Credit Union was founded in UCLA's Royce Hall by university employees. Since then, our story has spread exponentially to other universities in Northern and Southern California, the West Coast and Big West Conferences, and continues to grow. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we've been dedicated to giving the university community a financial advantage for over 70 years. This enables us to focus on the long-term strength of our business, while remaining true to our purpose. University Credit Union, a federally insured financial cooperative, was founded in 1951 on UCLA's campus by faculty and staff. UCU is guided by a volunteer board of directors, comprised only of faculty, staff, and alumni of the university community. As a full-service financial institution, UCU offers a variety of products and services including checking accounts, credit cards, home mortgages, auto loans, personal loans, insurance, and investments. We welcome employees, students, alumni, family members and everyone affiliated with one of our partner universities or any higher learning institution in California. UCU's core purpose to give members a financial advantage in life, along with the credit union's promise to advocate, educate, and innovate, help position UCU as a financial partner to the university community. We welcome faculty, staff, students, alumni, family members and everyone affiliated with any university, college or other higher learning institution located in Southern California, all schools in the UC System or part of the West Coast Conference. Additionally, CBS, CBS affiliates, Sony and Radford employees, J. Paul Getty Trust employees & volunteers, West Los Angeles VA Medical Center employees, and retirees of any of these organizations are eligible.
