History
Dr. Avallone completed his medical school training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Shreveport. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Afterwards, Dr. Avallone served as the Department Head of Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton's Ophthalmology department and its Warfighter Refractive Surgery Center. He the completed a glaucoma fellowship at Stein Eye Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). From there, he went on to served as an Attending Surgeon at Naval Medical Center San Diego and the Naval Warfighter Refractive Surgery Center - teaching residents refractive, cataract, and glaucoma surgery. In addition, he has served on numerous humanitarian surgical missions to Southeast Asia. He has co-authored numerous research articles and presentations and is at the forefront of providing the latest information and technology to his patients.
