Since 1981, the Santa Monica Synagogue has dedicated itself to creating a flourishing congregation of families, 250 and counting, who are dedicated to Reform Judaism. This nurturing community is motivated by tikun olam (repairing the world) and local efforts are geared toward this goal. This synagogue is also a member of the Union of Reform Judaism. It contains a religious school for all ages ranging from kindergarten to adult classes and offers many special education programs. Rabbi Jeffrey Marx has been the spiritual leader and teacher at this institution since 1985. Welcoming and supportive, this synagogue has day and evening programming that appeals to all members, young and old.
