The American Indian Warriors Association (AIWA) is a group of military service veterans with honorable discharge, many of whom are combat veterans and tribal members, based in San Diego County, CA. Their mission is to support American Indian veterans and their families, promote a healthy veteran community, and participate in cultural events that honor the traditions of American Indian heritage and the warrior spirit.
AIWA also includes the Warriors Color Guard, which is open to participating in traditional tribal and military veteran activities. They meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the Linda Vista Library in San Diego. Through their dedication and service, AIWA aims to continue the intertribal warrior tradition by providing opportunities for Native American men and women to serve with pride, courage, and distinction in the United States military.
