Tagliaferri's Delicatessen & Café, opened by father and son Al and Brian Tagliaferri in 1997, offers a wide range of deli favorites and Italian delicacies at their small bistro at the Downtown Novato Shopping Center. The business moved about one mile from the Square Shopping Center to its current location in February 2013.
"Tags" is a very popular lunchtime destination and somewhat of a sanctuary for Novato's Italian-Americans. The deli counter serves up tasty hot and cold sandwiches and panini, while prepared foods include homemade salads, lasagna, ravioli and eggplant Parmigiana. The eatery also offers a special catering menu that includes sandwiches by the foot, huge panini platters and appetizers like frittata and bruschetta. Customers can place their orders by phone or fax, or by stopping into the store and talking to the friendly staff in person. During busy lunch hours, customers need to take a number, but otherwise the staff is ready to help as soon as you walk in.
