History
Prior to Sunset Temple's inauguration as an event venue, the building was the meeting place of The Odd Fellows - a faith based service organisation who can most easily be summed up by their credo of Friendship, Love and Truth. Though the venue has undergone a major transformation and has become open to the public since the Odd Fellow days, we still pay homage to this momentous organization of good-willed men and women by standing by their principles in our own affairs. The original Sunset Temple sign hangs over our entrance on Kansas Street where you can still see the letters F-L-T below the moniker.
Specialties
At Sunset Temple, located in the heart of North Park, we believe in timeless style, farm-to-table cuisine and unique & memorable experiences. We are owner-operated, community oriented and completely unlike any other wedding venue in San Diego (or anywhere else so far as we know). Well suited for only the most amazing of weddings & events, our ballroom features a spacious hardwood dance floor set before a custom-made proscenium stage (originally created for Balboa Park's Old Globe Theater). The venue is also equipped with two full bars, a kitchen (where we concoct culinary magic) and state-of-the-art sound and lighting - in addition to a large 16-foot screen with rear-facing projector. Sunset Temple, for a taste of the distinct and absurdly fabulous.
