Established in 1908, the Sunnyvale Public Library began as a reading room organized by the Women's Christian Temperance Union and staffed by volunteers. Its management team is comprised of a library administrator, supervisor, and public and support services librarians, as well as collection development, children's and teen services, and cataloging and processing supervisors. The Sunnyvale Public Library provides more than 30 high-speed Internet computers for library members. It houses a collection of DVDs, CDs, books, pamphlets, magazines, periodicals, music sound recordings and videocassettes. The library maintains a range of fiction, nonfiction and reference materials for adults. The Sunnyvale Public Library also features a non-English language collection that provides recreational and informational materials in several languages, including Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese.
