This Catholic church has been a presence in the Davis Community since 1875; it was dedicated to St. James in 1881. The attractively landscaped grounds feature art and sculpture, including a shrine to the Virgin Mary. Services and confession are conducted both in English and Spanish. A parochial school, St. James School, is found on the southern end of the property. The church complex is located across Fourteenth Street from the Davis Branch Library. The parking lot can completely fill up during popular Sunday masses, but there is also plenty of space available along Fourteenth Street, B Street and in the nearby Veterans Memorial Center parking lot.
