Boy Scouts of America was created to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train them in citizenship responsibilities and develop personal fitness. Camp Josepho is nestled in the remote Rustic Canyon within Will Rogers State Park. In 1941, the camp was given to the Crescent Bay Council, BSA (now part of WLACC), by Anatol and Ganna Josepho as an expression of gratitude to his adopted land. Activity areas include an Olympic-sized pool with flush toilets and hot showers, a rifle range for BB and rifle shooting, an archery range, a Frisbee golf course, an amphitheater with a gas-fired campfire for campfire programs or awards programs and a lodge hall with kitchen. The camp offers a traditional camp setting of years gone by featuring an old western-style lodge and cow trails that follow the old creek bed to several campsites stretching through the canyon wilderness. It holds Cub/parent and family camp weekends and Cub Scout and Webelo camps. The nearby Rustic Canyon Ranch is used for horseback riding and equestrian education.
